During the two-day meeting, participants shared technical progress, explored integration strategies, and visited the HEKA pilot site—where technologies like smart heating controls, energy monitoring systems, and solar energy solutions are being applied in a residential setting.
New digital tools nearing completion include:
- A Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) calculator to assess how digitally prepared a building is;
- The SMURF tool, which helps compare upgrade options based on cost-effectiveness and environmental impact;
- A Digital Building Logbook to centralise important building data in an accessible, user-friendly format.
These tools are designed to help building managers, residents, and public authorities improve energy performance and comfort in buildings across Europe.

The meeting also strengthened coordination between technical teams and advanced plans for user engagement, communication, and market uptake. As BuildON moves into its final phase, pilot demonstrations will help showcase the project’s impact and potential for replication.
