The Digital Building Logbook takes the stage to showcase innovations in data tracking in the architecture and construction industry

BuildON has brought its groundbreaking Digital Building Logbook (DBL) very far away, specifically  at the Autodesk University 2024 Design and Make Conference, held in San Diego, USA. This is an annual event that brings together professionals from architecture, engineering, construction, product design, manufacturing, media, and entertainment industries, thus providing the perfect platform to introduce this transformative tool.

On Tuesday, October 15, Giovanni Coviello and Jacopo Chiappetti from One Team, a key partner of BuildON, presented the Session BLD3353 titled “Digital Building Logbook: How the AEC Data Model is revolutionizing digital tracking of building information in the EU”.

The session explored how the Digital Building Logbook is driving innovation within the architecture, engineering, and construction industry, particularly in the EU. Many of the DBL functionalities were featured in the presentation and captured the interest of the audience: the DBL acts as a comprehensive repository for vital building data—ranging from construction details and energy performance metrics to operational and smart building data—captured throughout a building’s entire lifecycle. it is a centralized, digital tracking tool whose main goal is is to advance the AEC sector’s efforts towards climate neutrality and fostering a circular economy.

The session emphasized the importance of projects like BuildON, and tools like the Digital Building Logbook, in improving data management, sustainability, and efficiency within the construction industry, and Autodesk University Conference proved to be an excellent venue for fostering discussions on cutting-edge technologies and collaborative advancements shaping the future of design, engineering, and construction.
