As Europe accelerates towards more sustainable buildings and cities, ensuring that no one is left behind is becoming a central challenge. This session brings together projects working at the intersection of energy efficiency, accessibility and social inclusion, with a strong focus on participatory approaches.
From engaging residents in decision-making, to developing a shared framework for assessing accessibility, to co-creating inclusive and climate-neutral spaces, the discussion will highlight practical solutions and lessons learned across Europe.
Representing BuildON, Apostolis Arsenopulos, Senior Researcher and Electrical & Computer Engineer at NTUA, will showcase tools designed to improve building performance and cost-effectiveness, demonstrating how technical innovation can align with real user needs.
